DO YOU HAVE A Tech/Connectivity ISSUE?

Carthage’s Hedberg Library provides all computing, networking, printing, and tech support for the Carthage community. The Hedberg Library Information Desk can help you connect to the Internet, install standard anti-virus software, install printer drivers, and troubleshoot printing problems. Contact the Hedberg Library Information Desk at help@c178.net or 262-551-5950.

You must register ALL devices you want to connect to the Carthage Network before you can connect to the Internet. To register your computer, connect to Carthage-Open or Carthage-Secure on phones, tablets, laptops, or desktop units. All other IoT devices such as TVs, Roku’s, gaming systems, and personal assistant devices will ONLY connect to Carthage-Open. Once connected to Carthage-Open, open a web browser and you’ll find you are immediately sent to the registration page where you can use your Carthage log in.

Register or check the status of a device

As gaming consoles fall into the IoT category mentioned above, they must connect to Carthage-Open if using Wifi. Wired Ethernet connections are recommended for gaming as they are typically more stable. Register your console for use on the network ( you will be asked to log in with your Carthage credentials). Keep in mind that registration is required on wired connections just as they are on wireless connections — each has its own unique mac address.

Did you forget your password? Don’t worry, it happens to all of us. You can reset your own password at any time. Passwords must be at least 15 characters long. If you have created “password responses”, questions and answers that provide an alternative way for you to prove your identity, you can reset a forgotten or expired password. Please set up your password responses before your password expires.

If you are unable to reset your password through the password responses, contact the Hedberg Library Help Desk in person or at 262-551-5950 or send an email from your Carthage email to help@c178.net. Please be prepared to provide your ID card or your ID number and date of birth to prove your identity.
